What you should know
What Are the Benefits of Yag Laser?
YAG laser spot correction helps lighten specific treatment areas of the skin without causing harm to surrounding tissue. The varied treatment depths allow for greater control over the thermal energy delivered for much faster healing. This advanced laser can target dark spots and freckles, making them lighter and eventually flake off.
How Does It Work?
The Chrome’s Optibeam handpiece uses advanced technology to emit laser with extreme precision and depth over the treatment areas.
Who is a Good Candidate?
It is generally safe for all skin types (I-IV), but there is a greater risk for hyperpigmentation in those with darker or more pigmented skin types. It’s recommended that Yag Laser treatment be reviewed with the Lead Medical Personnel or Medical Director to minimize risk of hypo- or hyperpigmentation. Yag Laser treatment is typically used to address brown spots, scars from acne, sun damaged skin, blotchy skin coloring or birthmarks.
What Can I Expect?
During treatment, patients report very slight discomfort and a tingling warm sensation. Post treatment, some experience redness or tenderness at the treatment site, which may last for a few days. There is a social downtime of 2-4 days depending on the individual’s skin condition and post treatment care.
The pigmented spot may darken or start to flake off over the next 1-2 weeks before getting lighter. For optimal results, 4-6 sessions with 4-6 week Medical Wait Time between sessions is recommended.
